There’s another archer thrown in for good measure for this episode as well. It remains to be seen exactly who she is due to the nature of Shado being drastically changed in the show during the earlier seasons, but simply introducing the character opens up some great doorways for the story to go. It’s great to see such a beloved character who has become so integral to the Green Arrow comics now being introduced into the show. This episode starts off with a bang though revealing the face of the new Green Arrow before revealing what her name is, Emiko Queen. Diggle has been one of the best characters in the past, so it’s sad to see his story reduced to something so boring.
It’s boring and simply feels like the writers don’t know what to do with Diggle anymore, but because David Ramsey is so good in the role, they don’t want to get rid of him. With Oliver now working for the police too, the show may be going back to a more procedural-type of storytelling.Īs for Diggle’s storyline though, it’s still the ARGUS mystery that has been happening for the majority of the season and it still isn’t interesting.
There’s a safety in that which feels like the series wanting to take a breath after the intensity of the previous episode. The team is investigating a crime and going after a murderer. Other than people constantly talking to Ollie about being the Green Arrow, everything feels like it’s back to the status quo of the previous seasons, other than for Diggle.
Is DC’s Legends of Tomorrow ending after season 7?."Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW. What did you think of the young Barry Allen and "Barricity"? Leave your comments below. It will be even more fun to see how Oliver reacts when he learns Felicity revealed his secret identity to Barry. It will be fun to see how Barry responds to the truth about Oliver's identity as the vigilante. I wonder if the writers foresaw this when this episode was formulated. However, it seemed Oliver went from jealous boyfriend to older brother by episodes end. At first it appeared Oliver was acting like a jealous boyfriend, which is to be expected. One factor I found interesting while watching this episode is how the dynamic between Oliver and Felicity changed. It's a very tragic story which makes it difficult not to feel sympathy for Barry. Also, when his father attempted to fight the man Barry magically ended up 20 blocks away from his home. His mother was killed by a man who came in like a literal blur and wreaked havoc in his home. The final moment came when Oliver invited Barry to his mother's party and Barry and Felicity slow danced.īarry Allen's backstory made it very easy to like him. Felicity believed to be disappointed in Oliver for exposing Barry rather than happy Oliver discovered the truth. The second moment came when Oliver exposed Barry for not being a crime scene investigator but an assistant whose Boss didn't know he was in Starling City.
Felicity followed it up by asking Barry to be her plus one to Oliver's "My mother's not in jail anymore" party. She shut that down when she uttered the words "I don't like Oliver". Felicity made a comment about spending "every night" with Oliver leaving Barry to suspect Oliver and Felicity were together. The first came when Felicity and Barry were setting up Barry's equipment to analyze the evidence from the crime scene. There were a few moments during this episode which probably hurt "Olicity" fans everywhere. The chemistry between Barry and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) was obviously there from the time they met to the time Barry's boss forced him to leave. After watching Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) debut on Wednesday it was pretty easy to see why executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said there would be as many "Barricity" fans as "Olicity fans.
